Mission Statement:
At Mindful Me Playhouse, we are more than just a play space—we are a thoughtfully designed environment led by a team of highly experienced early childhood specialists. Our mission is to provide a nurturing and inspiring space where play, growth, and connection come together with intention and expertise.
Every class at our playhouse is backed by research and guided by professionals who understand the nuances of early childhood development. Through mindful, small-group experiences, we create a space where children and caregivers can explore, learn, and bond in a way that supports healthy development.
Here, play is purposeful, relationships are meaningful, and every family is met with the knowledge and care they deserve.
Meet the Team
Meet Jodi
Jodi Burgart, M.Ed, BCBA, Owner
I’m Jodi, the owner of Mindful Me Playhouse and Mindful Me Behavioral Support, and my passion for early childhood began at 16 when I had my first job working at a preschool. Over the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to creating meaningful learning experiences for children and families. From teaching in classrooms and training educators to leading teams, advocating for parents, and running my own behavioral health company, I’ve been deeply immersed in the magic of early childhood every step of the way.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education, a yoga teacher certification, and I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. These experiences, combined with my love for play and connection, have shaped my holistic approach to supporting families. I believe that play is where children—and caregivers—truly grow, and I’m passionate about creating environments that celebrate exploration, creativity, and each family’s unique journey.
At our playhouse in downtown Carbondale, CO, I bring my love of learning to life through caregiver-child classes that nurture relationships, inspire growth, and foster community. Here, every family’s story is honored, creating a space where everyone feels welcome and supported. You belong here. Let’s play, grow, and connect together!
Meet Mike
Mike Burgart, Owner
Play and parent support were central to my childhood. Growing up ski racing on the East Coast, I experienced firsthand how connection and creativity help kids build confidence and resilience. That foundation shaped my deep belief in the power of play and its role in fostering growth in so many ways. I spent years coaching young skiers on the East Coast and now teach at Snowmass, where I get to share my love of skiing and help kids build confidence on the slopes.
With degrees in both Biology and Medical Technology, I bring a blend of science and passion to Mindful Me Playhouse, designing systems that keep everything running smoothly. But I’m not just behind the scenes—you’ll often find me in our beautiful space, playing with kids and connecting with parents.
My wife, Jodi, and I are dedicated to creating a welcoming, intentional space where kids thrive, families feel supported, and community flourishes.
Meet Tori
Tori Hess, M.Ed, Play specialist
I’m Tori, a highly experienced educator and mom who believes in the power of play to foster connection, confidence, and growth. My journey in education began with a love for history and culture, earning a Bachelor’s in American History with a minor in Cultural Anthropology before pursuing a Master’s in Education with dual emphases in Teacher Leadership and Special Education.
For over a decade, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting children and families in a variety of roles—from school librarian and paraeducator to special education teacher for kindergarten through fourth grade. Now, as part of the Mindful Me team, I provide direct support to children and families, focusing on early childhood development and creating meaningful learning experiences through play.
My approach is rooted in recognizing and nurturing each child’s strengths while creating an inclusive environment where families feel empowered. At Mindful Me I’m excited to bring my expertise and passion into a space where children and caregivers feel truly seen, supported, and valued.
